Empire State Of Mind [Jay-Z + Alicia Keys] (Explicit) from: Roc Nation

I am not really a fan of this type of music usually but there are some songs like this that change my mind. I live in the UK and have loved New York from afar for many years, so for me this song seems to encapsulate everything that makes New York one of the greatest cities in the world.

Jay Z is now a heavyweight megastar of intergalactic proportions. I'm a fan of this huge talent. I love this record.
When I went looking for "the old Jay Z" - just too much nihilistic gangsta profanity nonsense. I'm glad Jay Z is more accessible and mainstream. Awesome.

Best rap/crossover track of the year, as Jay-Z and Alicia Keys take us on a lyrical journey around their home state - and yes, at times it becomes a bit of a shout-out, but Jay-Z's vocals have never been better and he packs so much in that the track feels longer (longer in a good way) than its 4:37 running time. Alecia Keys' voice has never been stronger than on the incredibly catchy chorus, and that's led her to do her own version without Jay-Z, but it pales in comparison. I think in 10 years time we'll be looking back on this as a classic.

Fantastic beat, great melody and a phenomanal singer on the hook. What more could you ask for? The answer is nothing. As a Londoner from the UK, this track hit me, inspiring a love of New York as if i was born and bred there
